Where can I see a video being used by a certain camera?

Why won't my sd memory card work anymore in my Digital Video Camera?

  • I bought an 8GB memory card for my video camera. It worked fine for 3 weeks. I recorded my boys' baseball and T-ball games. I used it this past Sunday to record the boys hunting Easter eggs and it worked fine like it normally did, but when I recorded again about 10min later it said memory full (it was the cameras memory, not the card and I dont know why it just bypassed the card and decided to use cameras memory).. The card still has 56 min left of record time and when I click the record button the camera freezes up and when I click the play button to play the videos on my card the screen turns black. :( I know it's NOT the Video Camera, because I put in a different SD card and it recorded and played videos (with only 7min of record time left on that card) and I was able to see all the pics on the card. I hooked my camera up to my computer to see if I could see the videos off the 8GB card, but it would not show any of them (pics or videos) If anyone can help PLEASE DO SO ASAP bc I have 3 weeks of memories of my boys playing thier games on that card :*( I dont want to lose them. Thanks in advance

  • Answer:

first try to take the card out and clean the contacts. (gold pins/fingers) Put the card into a card reader and try from your computer. if it read it then copy all the video off and check the card out to see if it is faulty. If that does not work then the card has to be faulty. there is software you can get to try to recover the video. http://www.easeus.com/data-recovery/card-recovery-software/ if that does not work the you may be able to get the video recovered professionally, that will not be cheap. For the future always copy the video from the card every time you have used it, it only takes a few minutes but will save you hours of trouble. RR

Since you don't have a card reader, you should buy a USB card reader. You can then try this free software. Download the program http://www.recuva.com? You must not take anymore pictures on your card. You have to use a card reader either on your computer or an external USB card reader.Put the card in the card reader, open the recuva program, the welcome to the recuva wizard will open, click on next. next box, choose 'pictures', click on next, next box choose 'on my media card' click next. See the words 'enable deep scan' click on start. Wait, for it to do it's magic. You need to use a card reader either one already in your computer (some have one, some don't). Or buy an external USB card reader. They are around 10.00 and can be found at walmart, bestbuy, frys, probably target. The problem with built in card readers is that they will usually only read up to a 2G card. I was not able to recover photos by hooking the camera up to the pc with the usb cord, it just won't work. This is the important part. Choose the pics you want to recover, then choose recover, a box comes up asking where you want to save to. Choose documents/my pictures or wherever you want to save your pictures too. The pictures ONLY save to your pc and not the card. Format your card in the camera after you have retrieved your photos and backed them up to an external source.
