How do i take sony 8mm cam tape and put it into my laptop?

  • i have the old 8mm cam and i want to put it into my laptop so i can edit it some then put it on dvd what do i need to do that ?im sure that something is out in the market to do it i just dont know what . some sort of plug and play type of thing .i havr the rca jacks (r,w,y) on the cam . and it is a laptop i want to put it in to . thanks for your time

    Buy a USB WinTV capture device. That has all the hardware and software you will need, except for maybe a cable or two. Computers NEVER have this hardware built in as standard.

you have to convert your 8mm into digital formatt computer stores usually have software and converters that are usually under 40.00 or you can get a service to do it for you my advice buy the software

it does depend on the laptop did your camera come with a connecting cord? try sony's website
