I need help buying a good video camera.

I am buying a video camera. I need help.?

• The camera will be used for short and feature films and general filming fun. I can't decide what price range to buy in, so if someone could suggest camera/s in the $2000, $3000, $4000 and $5000 price range it would be greatly appreciated. I'd love for it to include: HD recording, mic jack, good low-light shooting, record digitally (to hard-drive or memory cards - no tape or disc), the ability to increase frames per second, and other cool stuff like that. It will be edited on FCP X on my Macbook Pro. Oh and if suggestions could be made as to whether should be a SLR, consumer/prosumer camcorder or pro camcorder would also be great too. Feel free to answer as many or few questions as possible. I know there's a lot. Thanks.
