It's time for a new video camera. But What kind is the best to buy?

I love editing movies and films on my computer. But my camera is now 3-4 years old and so is my computer. I am buying a black macbook soon, but I was curious as to what video camera has amazing quality, sound, picture, etc. And the finishing product is AMAZING! Range $1300 and down. It would be nice if it was HD.

New MacBooks don't have a firewire port, so miniDV tape is out (bummer, since they are best video quality). That leaves flash memory. Canon HF10, HF11, HF100, Sony HDR-CX12. All do AVCHD for high definition so you need to use the latest iMovieHD or FinalCut. No hard disc drive because of known vibration and altitude issues. No DVD because they barely make useful doorstops.
