How To Make An Instrumental Track?

How to make a DIY camera rig that moves by itself on a track ?

  • I wanted to know how to make a DIY camera rig that can move by itself, most likely on a track. The idea is to get the rig to follow a track in a circular motion to get a constant 360 degree shot the best example i have is like the stoner shot on that 70's show. Any help or a link to a tutorial would be great, I'm sure that it will be consisted of a mono or tri-pod a track kind of like a micro-machine type track and something mechanical to push it along that track what that something is I'm not sure, the help would be appreciated. THANKS !!

  • Answer:

if all you need is a 360 shot, you can simply use a remote motorized pan/tilt that fits on a tripod. it does not require DIY, you can get ready made. http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=&N=4291588609+4294544638&A=endecaSearch&ci=1&Q=

There is lots of help on the net on this subject. Start at http://www.videomaker.com/, they have lots on the subject, http://www.youtube.com/ has many help videos as well as http://www.ehow.com/. You would have to construct something to do circles. Movie making folks have big budgets, to pull something like that off, you would need on too.
