Hitachi DVD cam?

Hitachi DVD Cam & PC?

  • I've connected my DVDcam to my computer and opened the software that came with it, but I'm being told that no import device can be detected. However, I am able to watch my recorded video...so it must be connected. Also, it's saved as a IFO File...I've no idea what that is, but is there anyway to change it to a different file so that it can be opened and edited. So can anyone help? I'll need it explained very basically as I'm not really a technology genius...obviously. Thanks for any help. xx

  • Answer:

The software that usually comes with those camcorders is usually just to allow you to take still shotsfrom your video - Try it this way instead Use a programme such as Ulead VideoStudio - you take the mini-disc out of your camcorder and put it into the DVD tray of your PC making sure it sits centrally in the little depression made for it. You may have to 'finalise' the mini DVD your camera manual will tell you how to do that. Inside VideoStudio you select "Insert DVD" and point the programme at the DVD and follow the prompts and the video is copied from the disc into the timeline of VideoStudio so that you can edit it - add lots of different videos together - add titles/music/narration - and finally burn to a full size DVD to play in a standard player. Full details from :- www.Ulead.com or www.Ulead.co.uk ~
