Why wont my JVC camcorder charge?

Why is my camcorder not charging?

  • This is probably a really stupid question, but I just can't figure it out. I just bought a JVC camcorder and it charged fully once and worked fine. When the battery got low again, I plugged it in and left it to charge. The next morning, it was dead. I can't figure out what is wrong; you plug one end of the cord in the wall, and the other in the camera. Not rocket science. But the 'charging' light won't come on and the battery never charges. What the heck could I be doing wrong here??

  • Answer:

I would return the camera. The A/C power adapter could be defective or the battery is defective. It is not unusual for rechargeable batteries to be defective, even new ones. Being that the charging light is not illuminating would indict a bad power adapter. Don't take this wrong, but are you using the correct A/C power adapter that came with the camera?

Other answers

Your charger may be broken, or upside-down. There could be a loose connection in the line, most likely at one of the ends. Just try moving stuff around for awhile to see if you can get the light to turn on. Once you get it, find a way to keep everything from moving anymore and let that sucker juice up!
