How do you transfer footage from a video camera (tapes) to a computer?
-
so i went to the Stanley Hotel in Estes Park last week for a ghost hunt. my first one, actually! i caught some AMAZING stuff, but the camera i had was a gift from my aunt that she got 4 years ago but could never figure out how to use it. the camera uses small tapes. i dont know the tape types, but i know they aren't VHS tapes, they fit in the palm of my hand. i have one of those 3-ended cords that you plug into the camera then into the TV so you can enlarge the footage. they have the red, yellow, and white tips. is there some type of adapter i can use to plug the cord into the computer so i can share the stuff i caught? even if you dont believe in the paranormal, please be respectful. these are my beliefs, and i am hoping for an understanding about that. thanks so much for your help! sorry im not so technologically savvy. :)

Answer:
Hi dear, Be cool, it is not so difficult to transfer your data from camcorder tape to your computer. There are almost three methods. 1. Using the three-ended cables available with your camera. For this you need to have a video tuner card installed in your computer. You will plug in the cables in to that card just like you plug in them in a tv. Further instructions will be available for saving the footage into your drives. 2. Using USB Cable. When u purchase the camera, it must be accompanied by a usb cable which can be used to connect the camera with the computer. Moreover, there would be a software CD with the camera having the software which may be installed on your computer and used for capturing the data from the tape to the computer. 3. Using an I-Link cable. I-Link cable is a cable similer to the usb cable to some extent but a little different. In order to use this, you must have an i-link port on your computer and I hope it would be there on your camcorder too. (All the laptops almost have this port). You will connect the camcorder to your computer through i-link cable. When the camcorder will be connected and turned on, the Window movie maker will automatically show a wizard which will guide you towards capturing the video from tape to the computer. I hope it would be helpful for you, anyhow, for further guidance or help contact at [email protected] Regards
