Burning videos to DVD... help?

• i know absolutely nothing about burning videos and stuff so don't think i'm an idiot if the question i'm gonna ask is really obvious... so i hav a sony hdd handycam camcorder and it comes w/ this picture motion browser thing so u can view, edit, and burn the videos/pics. and it has a dvd/video creation thing so it's like a one-click burning thing. but every time when i click that it says "cannot find a drive" and my problem is how do i find or create a drive? i don't even know what a drive is, yeah i'm that bad at computers...so help?

  Ok honey relax you just need to know to do some clicking and typing to follow this guide =P First of all you need some hardware on your computer so you can burn the DVDs...what did I just say: you need a thingy to do the work and write things on the disc. Ok first we want to check if you have a DVD burner, this is also called the DVD drive, most computer come with a CD drive but if you are burning videos you need this DVD burner thingy. Lets first see if you have one, no point buying a new one if your computer has one right? Ok Click on 'Start', the button on the bottom left corner of the screen, ok now look for a new button that says 'Run' and click on it, a popup should appear. If you have trouble doing this, try to find the windows logo key on your keyboard it looks like a white flag with four parts, should be next to ALT key on bottom left corner of keyboard, now what you want to do is hold this down and press the 'r' key on the keyboard the popup should come up with a textbox, cool. Now lets type something in there: devmgmt.msc after you type this weird thing in hit the enter key, or OK button. A new window comes up saying Device Manager, cool you with me so far? Good, now we need to find the DVD driver/burner in the list if you own one. There is a lot of thing a magigs on this list but look for something that says DVD/CD-ROM drives or just CD-ROM drives, and click on it TWICE. Cool now there should be a little information line with a bunch of weird letters and stuff, lets see what it says for my computer: HL-DT-ST DVD-RW GWA-4082N what does that mean? the first set is useless as far as we are concerned but look it says: DVD-RW...what could RW mean? Well R=read and W=write, so that means I have a DVD reader and writer so I can burn DVDs, now if yours says only R then you can't burn DVDs with what you own, if it says W also well you need to change something on the program itself. OK so you need a DVD burner...you are on your own, do some research find a good one, I perfer Sony and buy it, I have a USB(Universal Serial Bus) one which connects to my computer. You can ask a question on yahoo answers or just go to google and search for more information. If you already have a DVD burner, here are somethings that are a problem: 1) You need to put in an empty DVD disc in the drive(DVD burning slot, ie where you put all CDs in your computer) duh! 2)The program does not realize you have a DVD burner and a disc in it, restart the program, close it and restart it, if this does not work you need to reinstall the drivers for the burner oh ho! Problemo sir, yeah I know get someone to help you this is a pain to explain here. 3) You have a usb burner that is not connected, what to do? oh my what to do? plug it in!
