Why wont my videos from my camera play on my computer?

My videos from my camera wont play on my computer?

• my camera broke a few months ago but i wanted to put my videos and pictures on my computer. i took our my memory card and downloaded my pictures and videos. the pictures came out fine but for some reason my videos wont play. when i click on a video it says: Adobe Reader could not open file because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an email attachement and wasn't correctly decoded) the videos and pictures worked on my dads computer though so i know that they aren't damaged. i tried sending the videos to my computer from my dads but they were to large for the email. my memory stick is lost so i cant just save them. on my computer it shows a thumbnail of the video and on the bottom right hand corner has a little adobe reader symbol. the type is: MP4 and my old camera was a blue Sony Cyber-shot what do i do? i really want my videos. please help! thank you sooo much

  have you tried a different default player, like windows media player? You must've set your default for adobe. The only thing on my computer that opens with adobe are pdf files. I mean, adobe is a reader program, not a video program.
