How to transfer video from camcorder to PC without firewire?

    Unfortunately, you can't unless you have USB, Firewire, or an analog (composite) video input. (This would look like a red, white, and yellow connector - like on your tv. You almost certainly don't have this if your computer doesn't have a firewire port.) The easiest and cheapest way for you to do this is to buy a firewire card for your computer. There isn't a way around it. ***Just thought of this... If someone you know has a DVD Recorder (not the kind that goes w your computer.) You could have it record the analog signal from your camcorder, then take the DVD and upload it to your computer. I still think it is way easier to just get the firewire port. Sorry! Good Luck!

well u can have firewire ports if ur computer has a pc card slot. ebay has a ton of these cards. try ebay look under electronic asscceories . i saw them on ebay myself and they are pretty cheap. but installation is very easy as long as u have a PC card slot there should be not problem. so once u have the card slide it in the Pc card slot and install the software that comes with it. Im assuming ur camcorder has a firewire port, so just buy a cable that matches the port on ur camcorder and ur firewire PC card. the firewire card usually has 2 or sometimes 3 firewire ports. well hope this helps! :)
