Which camcorder should I buy?
-
I'm want to buy some type of video camera but the more I try to do research the more confused I become. I'm graduating college and just want to be able to record some memories of the summer (vacation) and my future move to NYC. I don't want to spend more than 600. First off I don't know if I want a pocket camcorder or a normal camcorder. I was looking at the flip and the sony bloggie. I like this type because they are easy to carry around and more convenient. However I also like the idea of a normal video camera because of a better picture quality. So my question is, what kind of camcorder is better? And of the kind, which brand and model is better (in my price range)? Any help is greatly appreciated!! Thanks!

Answer:
If you want high quality video you should get normal camcorder. For your budget I would suggest Sony HDR-CX160 High Definition Handycam Camcorder * 1920x1080 Full HD 60p Recording w/3MP still image * 16GB embedded Flash Memory for up to 6 hours of recording * Wide Angle G lens to capture everything you want * 42x Extended Zoom to get even closer to the action * Back-illuminated "Exmor R" CMOS sensor for superb low-light video

Hello, i am selling my camcorder at the moment for only £200. i put it on ebay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Sanyo-Xacti-VPC-FH1-GOLD-/220771293669?pt=UK_AudioTVElectronics_Video_Camcorders&hash=item3366fe99e5 it has its original box and comes with the case and lens i have bought for it.
get a Canon ZR960 for $250 and save the rest. it has a real optical zoom lens, not just an electrical magnifier. miniDV is easily edited in free editors, like WMM or iMovie. The high datarate of tape 25 mbps gives better pictures than memory cards at 6 mbps, and a tape is cheap enough that you can keep it for archive. i have miniDV tapes from 16 years ago, but i have gone through a half dozen computers in that same time. There are no good digital storage options, save Blu-ray which is quite expensive, for memory card recorders. miniDV is still a viable professional format, and consumer memory card has not quite got there yet.

Sony Bloggie Touch The Flip's simplicity was its main virtue, but there's only so much you can do with one button. Sony solves that problem with the Sony Bloggie Touch's large 3-inch touchscreen, allowing you to adjust options without cluttering up the camcorder's body. The 1080p Bloggie also uses a 360-degree attachment to film very cool panoramic video. Kodak palysport Zx5 The most striking feature is that this one is Shockproof, dustproof, and waterproof up to 10 ft. Here is the review of it. Personally speaking , i like this one. Especially i use it to record outdoor. The video quality is amazing. http://www.amazon.com/Kodak-PlaySport-Waterproof-Pocket-Camera/dp/B004FLL5BI
