How do i get a camcorder mini disc onto my computer?

Just received a new Canon DC100 dvd camcorder. (mini discs) how do i copy a disc onto my computer?

  • My computer is new so it has all the bells and whistles, but i have completely forgotten how to record the minidisc to my computer. i wanted to put the movie i recorded onto youtube. i have Roxio. would i use that to get the contents of the disc into my hardrive.??? Please help. (not good at computers)

    You should have gotten some kind of cord besides the ac cor with it. If you didnt, go to your local Best Buy and get a USB cable for your specific camcorder model and type (ask an employee to help you). a usb cable allows you to transfer your movies and even (if you have one) your pictures off of your memory card.

Unless these disc are of a completely different size than I've seen before they should be able to be inserted directly into your DVD drive on your computer. You may notice when you open the drive that the tray has a large circular cut-out (which fits all your DVD's and CD's) and then another cutout that is slightly lower in the tray that would fit the mini disc perfectly. I am not 100% certain, as I've never had the opportunity to transfer any videos via a mini disc, but I'd at least see if it fits perfectly. Also check to see if the hole in the middle is the same as a regular CD. If so I don't see what you have to loose.
