How to recording digital piano with best quality sound?

• Please help!!! I would like to know how to record the best sound quality as possible on a laptop using digital piano I got, Gem RP800. I got couple of recording software, so what I need to impove the sound quality is sound card? Recording technique I use: Firstly, I uses cables and plugs, stereo cable with two big mono jacks on one end, which plug into my piano and a small stereo jack on the other, which plug straight into my laptop. The sound quality is not really good with a major big fizzy sound on the background consistenly. Secondly, I use the same method but this time the small steroe jack which plug straight into my laptop I plug it into a mini USB sound card. This got rid of the major fizzy sound on the background, but the sound quality still poor. I've been told I need to buy external sound card. I'm not sure what to look for.
