Whats a good video camera to buy?? not the most expensive ... small and functional....?

I don't care for the hard drive models. What happens when it's full? I prefer the Digital Hi-8. It still uses tape and I can get pretty clear stills if I want. When it's full...I just change the tape and move on.

DON'T go for digital8. MiniDV camera cost about the same, and offer better quality. However, if you're not a very technical person I wouldn't recommend it, even though editing the videos shouldn't be too much of a problem for even computer-tards. If you'd prefer to just watch unedited video on your DVD player, then a dvd camera is better, although the quality isn't the greatest, and there may be some compatibility issues. And if you ever decide to edit, it will not be very easy to work with, especially compared to miniDV.There are also newer HD cameras, but I would stay away from those until the technology matures for less-knowledgable consumers to be able to use it easily.
