How to convert Corrupt VHS tape to DVD?

Where could i convert my vhs's into dvd's in a store, and about how much per tape?

  • i just went thru my videos with my mom, we found some of both of us as babies, and it would really rock if we cold preserve them into dvd's <3

  • Answer:

Check the photo-labs type stores. Prices can vary greatly, so can't help you there. For example purposes: I do this sort of stuff myself, and I charge about 30$ to do a basic conversion and burn to DVD per cassette. 10$ extra for special graphic work for labels and sleeves for the case. Anything fancier, such as editing, and a real DVD interactive menu, it's usually 20$ hourly rate, but I seldom take/charge more than 1 hour. I provide two copies of the DVD (including printed label and case if they are requested/done), and charge between 5-10$ for any extras. (which covers the ink/paper/disk/case)

You can do this yourself. **If you have an analog (VHS) camcorder… You need an analog converter, either internal card or external such as the dazzle. It's very easy to use and come with good software. You would hook your analog VHS camera or VCR to the analog converter, the dazzle and then hook the dazzle to your PC. The dazzle cost around 85.00 , but worth the money if you have a lot of VHS to tapes to convert. **Please Note There is no 8mm or Hi 8 to VHS Adapter that currently exsists. This type of VHS Adapter only exists with VHS-C tape ***

If you can borrow a dvd recorder, then connect it to your vhs video recorder using video and audio cables and you can record from vhs straight onto blank dvd discs.
