How to record audio with my iPhone from multiple microphones?

• I'd like to use my iPhone as an audio recorder using multiple microphones. A variety of excellent and inexpensive mini condenser microphones are available - each with the requisite 3.5mm (1/8") stereo plug. I tried using an Azden Cam 3 mixer which has three 3.5mm inputs and a 3.5mm output to run to the iPhone's head/microphone jack, but because the microphones aren't powered and the mixer doesn't pass along power from the iPhone, the result is a dead signal. Can anybody recommend a compact mixer for stereo condenser microphones that offer both 3.5mm inputs AND output - or any solution for providing in-line power to each of the existing 3.5mm condenser mics? I'd appreciate any helpful guidance that may be available - especially specific product names and models. Thanks in advance.

  You need to be visiting your local Music Store. The folks that sell Drum Kits, Guitars and many other Musical Instruments, are audio experts. If your Iphone has a MIC port on it, it does not matter what cable ends are used except for the port on your phone. You could get Microphones with XLR ends on them, connect them that take take them to another XLR end, hook that to a Mixer. From the mixer, get a cable that goes from that port called Headphones to your camcorder. Or you could route that out to the sending unit of a wireless microphone set to the receiver, which is routed to your Iphone. The Music Store has the cabling needed to do just that.
