Video won't import on Windows Movie Maker?

Windows movie maker won't import my video?

  • I have a digital camera and whenever i make a video i try to import the video to windows movie maker but it wont work! And plus when I try to hook my camera up to windows movie maker it always says the camrea can't be detected because my camera goes into sleep mode! So is there any other way to import my videos to windows movie maker??

  • Answer:

Ya, windows movie maker is crap and does not support digital camera video files. If you have to use WMM then you will have to convert each clip using a video converter such as handbrake (free download). I was playing with it just this morning. My solution is to get a better editing software such as Pinnacle studio ultimate 11 or some thing comparable. This program can capture/import all file types.

Windows movie maker probably does not support your video files. I recommend using stashSpace's video editor. They support lots of video formats including the .mov format that it sounds like your videos are in. They also let you capture directly from your camcorder, you can even send them video tapes. Go to http://www.stashspace.com to check them out or give them a call. Good Luck!

import them to your computer than open them from windows movie maker
