What is the cheapest camcorder for indoor taping?

Which is the best camcorder for outdoor?

  • I used to take loads of still photography for my school magazine (that was 3 years ago) and now I want to try out video! Since this is going to be my first camcorder, so I might be really noob on this. I'm planning to use this camcorder for outdoors like video taping skydiving, live football matches, or taking video on clay pigeon shooting, I might use it for indoors too like video taping a session of tattoo....stuffs like that, and I'm going to do lots of editing on my PC so that I can post it to Youtube. So, i guess miniDV or DVD is out of the question right? So I'm looking into hard drives or flash drive, what ever you are calling it, its gonna be compact and durable, longer lasting batteries and good hard drive space since i'll be on the road most of the time. what is the best camcorder for a beginners like me?

  • Answer:

90% of my video is taken on Mini-DV I like the quality and the hassle free editing (my opinion) If you are going to video while you are skydiving, the probably the best format would be a Flash Drive camera. Reasons 1. there are no moving parts so vibration will not be a problem, unless the camera falls apart. HDD cameras do have problems with vibration, and it can cause problems. 2. as there are no moving parts the batteries will last longer. 3. The amount of capacity is up to you, once you fill up the drive then just pop another one in. once a Hdd camera is full then you need to DL it to your computer. Quality is good, as they offer HD the downside of bothe Media card and HDD is the because the video is compressed ( to get all that video onto a small media) your computer will have to do a lot of work when it comes to editing. so a GOOD computer is needed with a fast cpu and plenty of ram not forgetting a good video card. Something that would be useful (not sure if you can get it) an socket for an external mic, but they are so useful. STAY away from Mini-DVD A budget would have helped, so models I cannot help you with, just go for the best one you can afford. Good luck RR

I can not believe HD camcorder can use the regular tapes. How about the quality? I have a old MiniDV Canon ZR200 using tapes and I feel that the quality on the tapes is much better than the movie I transfer to the computer (maybe because the cheap transfer card)
