Can I switch miniDV tapes between video cameras?
-
I have two video cameras a Sony and a Samsung. They both use MiniDV tapes. I know that switching memory cards between cameras is bad, but what about camcorders? My samsung only works on Windows and I can't load my miniDV tapes, can I use the Sony one (works on mac) to upload the tapes that I made in the Samsung? Sorry if it's confusing! Thanks!!!

Answer:
Are the tapes recorded in the standard-definition MiniDV format? If so, then you should be just fine. Things change, though, if you recorded in HDV. I find it strange, though, that one of your camcorders doesn't work in Windows. Wonder what that's about? It should work fine. Which Windows version are you using? EDIT: I still find it strange that it doesn't work on a Mac. Are you using FireWire?
