Is my video camera fixable?

PLEASE HELP VIDEO CAMERA PROBLEMS?

• okay, so i have 2 video cameras. one is the cheap-ish one, the other is kinda expensive. so anyways, i need to make a video for school but i was only allowed to use the cheap one. i made the video (it was pretty short) but i had a problem: i needed to get it hooked to the computer. problem is, we dont have a plug-thing needed for the cheap video camera. so i took the memory card (lets call this the cheap memory card) and i put it in the expensive video camera. when i pressed play, i didnt see any videos or pictures that were on the cheap memory card, even though they were on there when i viewed them from the cheap video camera. so then i took the expensive memory card, and put it in the cheap video camera (to see if maybe i could refilm with the expensive memory card). when i put it in there, i saw the pictures that were on the expensive memory card. i deleted a couple (to make more room for my video) then i put the expensive memory card back in the expensive camera. when i turned it on to view the pictures that i didnt delete, there were none! there was no videos, no pictures (there should have been 200) nothing! so i took the expensive memory card, put it back in the cheap camera, turned the camera on, and the pictures were there. so now my problem is: the memory cards only work on the cheap camera! none of the pictures/videos are showing on the new, expensive camera, not even the original memory card (the expensive one) works on the expensive video camera! how do i make the original memory card work for the expensive camera again? how did this happen? sorry that this is so confusing

• Answer:

  You need to figure out what format(ex: mpg, avi, etc.) the cheap camera is recording in. If you can get the cheap camera and the expensive camera to record in the same format, they should work. You would be able to get a better answer if you put what kind of cameras you are working with.
