Where can i buy a good quality camcorder for under $600 that has a manual focus feature and is digital?

    digital is easy, every camcorder world-wide manufactured after 2000 is digital video, although a few warehouse outlets sold old stock of analog cameras after that. manual focus requires a view finder that is superior to the flip out LCD units that come with consumer cameras. you can't focus a 2 megapixel HD picture with a 200 kilopixel LCD viewer. that is why you need to trust the cameras autofocus feature. if you want manual focus for "depth of field" effects, then you should get a dSLR type camera. the lenses on $600 camcorders are too short focal length to achieve the DOF effects.
