How do I import video onto my computer?

I have a Sony VAIO VGN-FW200 and I need to import video from a Canon Elura 90 Camcorder. The camcorder needs a Firewire cord to import the video onto my computer, but there is no Firewire port on my laptop. Is there a way that I can import video without using a Firewire port? Or, is is there a way for me to get a Firewire port on my computer?
Answer:

No you have to have firewire, see if your laptop has an empty bay and buy a firewire card.
