Why won't windows movie maker play my videos?

ON WINDOWS MOVIE MAKER IT WONT LET ME PLAY SOME VIDEOS WITH MY NEW VIDEO CAMERA?

    What format are the video files. if they are from a hdd camera or sd camera WMM will not allow you to edit them. If you are using a dvd camera again it will not edit them. For the HDD or SD camera you need to convert them to something WMM will import AVI/MPG or the like. If you are trying to edit video from a DVD camera just copy the VOB files and change the file extension to MPG it will work then. Convert to "AVI OR MPG " best would be avi files are huge be warned 5 mins 1gb Hope this was some help RR

IT DEPENDS ON WHAT KIND OF CAMCORDER YOU ARE USING. WMM is not a very good editing program and does not support all file types. Files associated with Windows Movie Maker • Audio files: .aif, .aifc, .aiff .asf, .au, .mp2, .mp3, .mpa, .snd, .wav, and .wma • Picture files: .bmp, .dib, .emf, .gif, .jfif, .jpe, .jpeg, .jpg, .png, .tif, .tiff, and .wmf • Video files: .asf, .avi, .m1v, .mp2, .mp2v, .mpe, .mpeg, .mpg, .mpv2, .wm, and .wmv Save yourself some headaches and get a better editing program. If you are using a minidv camcorder, you need a firewire connection. A minidvd needs to have the files converted.
