How do I get the video off a mini camcorder disc onto my computer?

• Is there a program i can download off the internet so that I can put the videos onto my computer? I use a sony handycam and the dvds I use in it are TDK DVD-RW 1.4gb single sided 1-2x speed for camcorder.

  Have you tried just putting the disc in your dvd-rom drive on your computer? If it's a desktop box, you'll notice that mini-dvds will fit in the indentation in the middle of the tray. If it's a laptop, you can just clip the disc in as per usual. Google tells me that the videos will be in DVD format, just copy the VIDEO_TS directory to your hard drive and open it using your usual DVD player software.
