Why won't windows movie maker play my videos?

Why are my videos on my samsung camcorder (SD card) MP4 format? I NEED THEM TO PLAY WITH WINDOWS MOVIE MAKER?

    They're MPEG-4 because that's the way the camcorder records them - it's got nothing to do with the cards. You can convert them using something like Super, but the quality will suffer. I think AVS Video Editor can handle MPEG-4.
