Buying a new HD camcorder?

What is the point in buying a HD Camcorder?

• I realize it will record in HD, but if I don't have a Blu-Ray or HD DVD burner, will I ever be able to share my videos with others in HD format? Also even if i do have that the people watching the video need to have the blu-ray or HD DVD player, correct???

  Or... If you upload to vimeo.com, you can upload high definition (h.264 @ 720p). If you export the file to a media center connected to an HDTV, then playback 1080i over HDMI cables... or h.264 @ 720p or 1080i... and you can send this file to others using a service like YouSendIt.com. If you use a miniDV tape based camcorder, you can export the high definition project back to the camcorder and onto miniDV tape and use the HDV camcorder as the playback deck. And you can store this tape in a cool dry place so later, if you get a BluRay burner and player you can re-import and re-render to BluRay. If you render the finished project out to a regular DVD, it will be the clearest standard definition video you've ever seen play back on a regular DVD player. If you export the finished project as an AVCHD data file, then copy that data file to a regular blank DVD (if it fits on a single layer or double layer blank), then a PS3 can read the AVCHD file and you'll be watching in HD - if your PS3 is connected correctly... There's lots of ways to use and share the high definition video captured by high definition camcorders...
