Can I use a PAL version camera?

I have an older video camera that doesn't have usb or firewire. How can I get the videos on my computer?

  • I tried asking this question already but I guess I didn't word it right. I need a fairly inexpensive way to connect an older video camera and a vcr and basically anything that only has a/v connectors to my computer. I have hours of videos from different sources I need to edit but I don't know what to use to connect the video camera or vcr to my computer. I tried easycap but when I connected the convertor to my camera and my computer it said there was no signal from the camera and I couldn't figure out what was wrong. I also tried pinnacle studios but I can't use the newest version because my computer isn't new enough and I can't find an earlier version. So if anybody could tell me what to use and where to get if from I would greatly apprecitate it. :)

  • Answer:

You use the RCA (red, white, yellow) cables. You will need a converter like Pinnacle Dazzle to bring it in to your computer with the editing software that comes with it.
