How do you compress a home video?

Digital camera video compressing for email; help !?

  • Is there any way to compress a digital home video small enough to send it to someone in an email ? Answer asap please.

    I use studio 9 and after the movie is rendered it will let to save it make either an avi file....very large file, MPG, smaller than and avi or I can save it as a stream file and it makes a web file and saves it as a a window media file .wmv You can then send it as an attachment file. Other programs probably have similar settings.

not easily. you would have to make a streaming video (.wmv) file and to make a good quality one you need expensive software such as sorenson. For poor quality you can download the windows media encoder, but it will take some time to learn. There is also a free program called Super which can convert to .wmv. I also offer this as a service in my business, Cost would depend on length of video. With email you will have a limit on how large your file can be.
