Buying a new HD camcorder?

Im thinking of buying a HD Camcorder...need advice please?

• Hey all, im thinking of buying a HD camcorder, but have a few questions... 1. do I need a hd memory card or can I use a standard memory card? 2. to transer the movie to a computer, does the computer need to be HD? 3. to burn the movie to a dvd disk, does it need to be a hd disk (if there are any) or just a standard dvd disk? 4. can I watch the movie on a normal dvd, or a blue-ray dvd? and does the tv have to be set up in hdtv? these questios may seem silly, but I'd rather get things right, as its going to be very expensive! thanks!

  1: Depends on which camcorder you buy. There should be one supplied with the camcorder and the manual or vendor will tell what other cards are suitable. Ask the dealer. In your case, flash-card may be the way to go.Do not consider the camcorder that takes miniDVDdiscs and think twice about HDDcamcorders. 2: No, but the better the computer the more easy life will be. Minimum specs will be decided by your editing program. 3:Your editing program should let you burn to a variety of medium.DVD,DVDHD, Blueray.You decide. 4:When burnt to DVD it will be in standard def which should play on most DVD players.NTSC or PAL.You will decide this in your program for burning. If you decide to go Blueray you will need a better performing computer.These specs can be answered by the editing program vendor. So,if you can watch DVD on your TV now, you should have no trouble. If you are going Blueray, to achieve the benefits your TV should 1080P capable(1080I ok) but Blueray players can play DVD also.
