Which flip mino camera is better?

What boom mic could I use with an iPhone 4S or Flip Mino Video Camera?

• I'm a moving image arts student and I'm currently filming a five minute production using an iPhone 4S for video, and a Flip Mino for audio. How could I use a boom mic on either camera for better sound quality? The Mino keeps making room noise and the iPhone is too low to record audio. What boom should I get that would fit one or the other? (I'm on a relatively low budget.)

  since the camcorders don't have a mic input, there is no external mic that would "fit". your only option is to go hollywood style and record the audio on a separate digital recorder. Olympus makes several models, all come with a mic. since the mic is not attached to the camera, it can be placed closer to the action for better pickup. i am very surprised that you have not covered audio production in class, well take action and go to the campus bookstore and get the video production textbook and look up appropriate techniques. i used to work in a community college that offered television and media production and we covered all of this as part of the instruction.
