Why is my video choppy in Adobe Premiere Pro?

How to record HD video from Canon hv30???? Can Adobe Premiere Pro CS4 do this? What other info should I know?

I would like all of the information!! --> How to record High Def video from my Sony vixia hv30, what project settings to use in adobe premiere pro, what SD is and how to convert back to it? And any other info I need to know PLEASEEEEEE HELP ASAP!!!

Well it's not so much your software but more the hardware you are using. HD camcorders will only transfer to a computer using a down-conversion via firewire so you won't actually be editing HD video but high grade AVI. If you want to keep the HD format you will need a graphics card with an HDMI input and Sony Vegas software to even get started. The conversion from HD to SD when using the firewire interface is usually automatic so Premiere pro will do nicely as the editor. If you only want a simple edit, cut / fade etc then just use Windows movie maker.
