I have a J.V.C everio hard drive camcorder, what is the best program to use to burn to dvd?

i have lost my j.v.c. soft ware cd and when i try to burn a dvd, it does work. i have given my video clip to a profession to burn and he can't do it because it is in a avi format. please help.

The easiest solution is to use the software that comes with the camcorder. I've used it with several Everios and it works ok. Obviously, there's more advanced stuff out there but start with what comes in the box - that's what it's designed for.
