How do I connect my Samsung Camcorder to my computer using a USB cable????

Its a Samsung SCD107 camcorder. It takes miniDV tapes. I really don't want to go out and buy a firewire and would much rather do it with my USB cable but every time I connect it to my computer it will only directly upload it and not rip any pre-recorded stuff off the tape. The program that came with the camcorder isn't helping any. If anybody has some detailed instructions, or any help at all for that matter it would be greatly appreciated.

you can't....you need a firewire cable, usb will NOT transfer video to a pc.

Here ya go...step by step ;-) http://erms.samsungusa.com/customer/sea/jsp/faqs/faqs_view.jsp?PG_ID=3&AT_ID=31204&PROD_SUB_ID=44&PROD_ID=-1 BTW, notice the line where it says that firewire video quality is superior to usb. If you change your mind, you can get a firewire card (including the cable) for under $10 on ebay. Hope this gets you going! ;-) .
