How to take the sound off a video?

How would you take the sound out of a video?

  • I want to take the sound out of my friend's video, its of her singing. so i want to take the sound out, so that i can upload the audio (her voice or whatever) to myspace. please please help!

    if you don't have a video editor that has the capability to extract audio from video, just search the internet for audio extractor utility and you would find lots of them and they are free too. one of them is this free utility AoA Audio Extractor from http://www.aoamedia.com/audioextractor.htm. i'm sure you will enjoy listening to your friend's song less the video with it. don't forget to send me one too! ;)

If you have a mac it is very simple just open imovie hd and go to advanced and select extract audio then just export the audio without the video. If you have a pc you could download audacity a free program to record audio..just loop your mic output jack into your line in jack then open your video, and audacity, click the record button on audacity then hit play on your video and presto you have it......make sure you go to prefrences in audacity and select audio i/o and under the recording section select built in input.

Sorry, I got you wrong..upload audio ONLY instead of a music video. An audio extractor will do. a video clip is normally composed of min. 2 LINKED tracks, one is video & the other is audio. <<Remember, u want to take the audio OUT of the video and replace with another audio>>.

If your using windows, you can use windows movie maker to edit the said clip. Simply drag your video on the timeline of W.Movie Maker then you will see the volume pattern below, adjust the levels manually on the part affected.
