Is there a better alternative to the Flip video camcorder?

DCR-HC32E : I lost the CD bundled with the camcorder?

  • I've lost the CD that's been supplied with the camcorder and now I cannot transfer any video from the camcorder to the PC. My OS is Windows 7. I tried downloading alternative software Picture Motion Browser but it still asks for the driver. I cannot use i.Link either. i am totally at loss right now. Does anyone have any idea what to do now? I really need to transfer the videos to my PC. Any help and information will be appreciated. Thank you.

You do not need the PMB software. The Sony DCR-HC32E records video to miniDV tapes so your PC will need a IEEE-1394 (FireWire) port. Any video editing program that supports DV capture will work (Movie Maker for example). To access the still images on the memory card, just use a card reader (via USB or card slot on your PC).

Try going to the manufactures web site and see if you can get the drivers from there.I had a similar problem with the drivers for a printer.
