-
I have a Panasonic hard drive camcorder model SDR-H18. I want to connect it to my laptop and view live streaming. How do I do this? It comes with a usb cable and an av cable. Thanks

Answer:
Do you mean you want to use the cam as a super WEBCAM so you can see what the camera see? I am afraid this is extremely difficult. Because in order to do so, you need a firewire interface that comes with the camera. Your camera doesn't have this function, so you can only do it with AV cable. Which means you will need an analoge capture device, and the image quality will drop hard. If you don't mind the low res, then go for it. Buy a analoge to USB cable which comes with a free software (usually). It range from 45$ to 140$, depending on the brands.
