Is this a good budget video camera?

A good quality digital video camera in my budget? (read info)?

  • I would love to create videos and sort of "train" myself to be a director. I'm only 15, but I'd like some good gear to get a head-start with. My mom got me a new camera this past Christmas (because my little 1st gen. Flip camera can only do so much...) but the quality is still not very good. It even said it was an HD camera and well... I don't see what's so high-def about it... It's a Vivitar DVR 947HD camcorder. Unless I somehow don't have it set up right, which I'm pretty sure I've tried everything, it has terrible quality. So, if I return this camera then use that money to get another, (and I don't know the price of it...) I'm gunna say I have only $200 maximum to spend on a video camera. What's the BEST quality camera I can get for that amount?

    Try a JVC Camera, those are good cameras,, they record in MOD format though which doesnt allow editing in most editing softwares.

the vivitar is good , the flip sounds like you settings aren't right , I would recheck that before you get another , the flips are usually good , so it seems to be settings
