How can i make my video edit faster?

  • just got a cannon 60d and super stoked about that.. but sadly the video quality is too much for my computer to handle..getting a new one soon, but how can i make the video file render better..and edit easier?

    By rendering "better" do you mean you want it done quicker or is there a problem with the video quality? Similar question for the editing - do you want the editing to be smoother or are you looking for a different editing process? Either way, you're editing H.264 - it's a nightmare! There's lots of discussion on the web about editing H.264 but one approach you might want to look at is using an intermediate codec.

I have a Canon 60D and I work with macbook pro. If I want to use slower computer, I have to change the import into "large" instead of "full quality". Then the editing is much faster to handle. Then you export after editing, make sure you export good quality, go to do something else, don't watch it render, it is painful to watch!
