Is the casio camera compatible with windows movie maker?

Why can't i upload from my camera into windows movie maker?

• Everytime I try it says "Import Video could not find a compatible digital video device. Verify that the digital video device is properly connected and turned on." The thing is, *I have done this before* with the SAME camera. I edited projects like this last year and I have touched windows movie maker since. So, idk if i just forgot how to do it. But nothing's working. All I'm trying to do is capture video from my Panasonic Mini DV camera into WMM so I can edit it. ***I repeat. I have done this before, last year. So, it can't be impossible! Can it? Why won't it work this time! I've done everything from putting the camera into every mode it has, restarted my camera, restarted WMM, and the same box pops up. why isn't it working? if i've done it before. it can't be compatible one day and not compatible the next.

  Because you need to use a firewire cable connected to the DV port of the camcorder and the firewire port of the computer. There have been lots of Windows updates - and the USB drivers for transferring miniDV tape are no longer supported - that mean no updates. USB won't work anymore. Camcorder needs to be in "Play" mode. And I *think* Panasonic camcorder need to be plugged in to a working wall outlet for power, too.
