What are some Inexpesive HD Video Cameras with a Mic Jack?

• My friend and I have been talking about making little short action movies for friends to watch and we're on a low budget. We need an inexpensive video camera (preferably under $300) that is High Definition (possibly Full HD 1920x1080) that has an external microphone input that way we can plug in a mic for better sound. Also, I would like your opinion on whether or not I should get the Kodak Zi8. I've seen a lot of good reviews and it's basically all I need, BUT is it good for amateurs making small action movies? Thanks!

  Hi there, I've checked for you. Zi8 is a great flipcam. I think for it's good for the value. However, if you are making something like action movies, with external mic, I don't think it is suitable. Why? Nr.1, you want a camera with better optical (and optical zoom). Then you might want a bulky one to give you better stability when you shooting with your hands. At last, you wanna make sure there is a 3.5mm input to allow external microphone. Plus, maybe you also want it to be able to mount it onto a tripod easily? You can look for a "normal" size camcorder from Sony or Canon that is under 300$.
