How do you import videos from a computer to a camera?

  • i have imported these video files into the camera memory stick in the DCIM file but everytime i turn on the camera i cant find them it says NO VALID PICTURE TO PLAY so im like wtf do i need to the files somwhere else or do i need to change the type of the file thanks =)

  • Answer:

Flash memory and hard disc drive (and DVD) camcorders are designed to be a one way trip for the video out of camcorder - not back in. You can TRY to match the file type (if the camcorder records mov or mpg or mod files, then you need to copy the SAME file file types to the card. Changing the files extension won't work. the video editor needs to render out to the correct format - the same as what the camcorder recorded to begin with. Since you did not tell us the source of the video, the camcorder, the video editor you are using or any other details, there's not much more we can help you with. Chances are VERY HIGH yuo can't get there from here. The ONLY camcorders where this is easy to do are miniDV tape based - and you would export the video from the video editor back to the camcorder. I do that all the time. Yet another good reason for buying and using miniDV tape based camcorders.
