Why does my flip hd slide video camera keep freezing and how can i fix it?

i just got this camera, and after filming about 2 clips, the third one froze a few seconds in. it randomly freezes and i have to hold the power button down to turn it off but the video that was being filmed when it froze deletes. i've read that this problem happens for a lot of people's flip hd slide. is there any way to fix this problem?
