Do I Need A Firewire To Use My Camcorder As A Webcam?

Here's the thing i just recently purchased a Kodak Zi8... It records in 1080p (30fps) & 720p (60fps) which is bad for the price $180. The Issue Is i use skype, windows live, blogtv, i livestream often, i also do videos on youtube, etc... I want to use my camcorder instead of this piece of crab webcam on my pc. Problem is i only have usb 2.0 on my camcorder (I know a camcorder in 2010 without firewire? shame on them). Is there anyway i can use my camcorder as an HD webcam with HD results?
Answer:

The IEEE 1394 interface, also known as "FireWire" allows for live capture. Your camera uses a mini USB to USB connection which will not work. You could use the A/V output on your camera and buy a capture device but that would cost most than a webcam.
