What is the overall better camcorder. The Contour HD Vs. GoPro HERO2 ?

  • What is the overall better camcorder. The Contour HD Vs. GoPro HERO2 ? I am looking for a portable camcorder that I can place on my slef/ or other objects to record video and audio. I did my part of research between both of these camcorders and in my opinion the Contour HD is much better. But what has better settings/ color, picture quality, user friendly and etc? Please help I need to pick one as soon as possible!

    Hello, well i will try to help with my best since i live in brazil and i don't have the best english language skills available... eheheh I have both cams and i used them mainly for two activities, to make movies of myself shooting (you can watch in youtube by the user dromion) and riding my specialized demo in downhill races under very severe conditions... one thing i can securely says, the cams are almost the same, if i need to point wich one is better my finger will go to contour without doubts, anyway the gopro is a nice choice if u dont care about a lot of extra brightness and a bit of less frame rate, but if u wanna use it in a tough terrain with a lot of shacke or in something really fast like a 2011 STI pistol working in a ipsc championship take the contour, because it does a really superior job... if u have some extra things to ask feel free to do it, just remember about my really bad english... so have patience :) Dromion

I just took ContourHD 1080p Helmet Camera out for a ride in the CA desert on my dirt bike today. Wow! The setup and ease of use is remarkable (all camera config is done via their easy edit software), the goggle mount worked just perfectly. You can use the software it comes with for simple cuts and montages and media management but if you want to edit on your own, the camera simply shows up as an external drive on a PC to pull off the video files.
