Does anyone know how to use an AMBICO do-it-yourself deluxe video transfer system?

Can you connect a Kodak ziP hand held camera to Pinnacle Studio 11 editing software?

  • I bought the ziP so that I can just put the USB drive into the computer and transfer the video into the Pinnacle Studio 11 editing software, but now the software is telling me to format the SD chip. When I format it, it won't work inside the camera. Anyone have any ideas? I have Vista (yeah...dumb move I know.) Or, because I've always wanted to edit and for some reason it never works. Either i don't have the right software or some other stupid reason. I'm getting ready to just break down and buy a nice editing system once and for all. Does anyone have actual good recommendations for something I can use with the Kodak camera? I also have a Sony hand held camera that doesn't have drivers for Vista...and I can't find them anywhere. Please help me finally get to edit! Thanks. 10 points to most helpful answer.

Are you sure it's a Kodak ZiP? I couldn't find any information on a ziP camera. You need to format the SD card in the camera using the camera menus. Once you have recorded media on the card, you are better off using a card reader connected to your computer via USB and then access the media files that way. As long as Pinnacle Studio 11 supports the media format of your camera, you can do your edits, etc.

Mandy is right on. You will probably have to convert the video in order to use it in Pinnacle.

Oreo

You need to use a card reader and copy paste the video from the card to your videos folder, then open pinnacle studio 11, skip the capture tab, click on the edit tab, see by the menu box, click on the middle folder icon to search for your video, after you find it, drag and drop to the timeline. I have vista and pinnacle studio 11, it's pretty easy to use.
