Canon Gl2 vs. Sony vx1000?

I am looking to buy one of these cameras and would like to know the details and differences of them. I will be using either camera to film skateboarding.

well that's a hard one see the sony vx1000 has a lot better quality video than the canon gl2 and better sound but the gl2 is newer as the Sony vx1000 is like 15 years old but yet pro skate Filmer's still use them so they must still be good and you don't see any pro Filmer's filming with gl2s do you i am also deciding between these cameras
