How to add subtitles to divx files?

Adding subtitles to dvd vob file?

• Hi, I absolutely know nothing about dvd but need to add greek subtitles to a dvd for an association. I have a dvd in english without any subtitles and a .txt file with subtitles and times. On the disc I have a folder Video_TS that contains several .vob files and other types of files. I kinda hope to find a software that can read the film and I can synchronize. Does anyone know the process and the softwares I could use ? Thanks In advance for help Francois

  You'll need to reauthor the DVD. In principle that's going to mean 1/ Extracting the video and audio from the vob files into separate files (demultiplexing, aka demuxing) . 2/ Converting the subtitles into a standard format (assuming they aren't already) 3/ Reauthoring the DVD from the audio, video and subtitles files 4/ Burn the DVD Try this guide - http://forum.videohelp.com/topic219535.html Subtitle Workshop may help you get the subtitles into the right format - http://www.urusoft.net/home.php?lang=1. DVDLab Pro is very good, but it's not free - if you're feeling brave, have a look at DVDAuthorGUI, http://download.videohelp.com/liquid217/dvdauthorgui.pl . I've never used the subtitle feature, so I've no idea how easy or otherwise it is!
