Why do i sound different on the phone or on a video camera?

  • dont tell me its wat i really sound like because i know wat i sound like ok? i just want to know because when i here myself like that i get embarrassed but everyone else sounds pretty much normal to me

    When you listen to yourself you hear the sound that's travelled through the air plus the sound that travels directly through your skull - when you hear a recording it's the way the rest of the world hears you. It's not what you want to hear, but that's what you really sound like. fwiw, I sing in a choir - our musical director ( a professional musician) tells me I sound good, but I think I sound terrible.

think you pretty much answered your question... if EVERYBODY else sounds NORMAL to you.... then ... obviously the answer is the one that you said not to tell you..... IT IS WHAT YOU SOUND LIKE TO EVERYONE ELSE.....
