How to hook up camera to computer?

How do i hook up my video camera to my computer and download videos to my computer?

  • i have a "digital video camera recorder" by Sony the guy that worked at the store told me that im able to hook it up to the computer so i think that when i bought it, it didnt come with the wire or something what came with it was: AC Adaptor Power Cord A/V Connecting cable Lens cap Rechargeable battery pack i dont think it came with the wire that can hook it up to the computer, or am i wrong? so if anyone knows please tell me what i need to do or what i need to buy? thanks

    I use something called Dazzle, you just plug in the A/V cables into the device, then the device plugs into the computer via a USB cable. Works just dandy.

The method used to transfer video from a camcorder to a computer is different for every type (tape/DVD/HDD/etc.) of camcorder and since you have not told us the type of your camcorder it is impossible to give you definitive advice - you will no doubt receive many guesses for answers - but these will only confuse you. ..

check the box and read all the supplies that came with it should be on the outside of the box i believe it comes with the usb cable and at the same time it should come with the software.if not you have to buy it,and if it comes take it back to the store and tell them that is missing.
